The Paradox of Classical Reasoning

چکیده
Intuitively, the more powerful a theory is, greater variety and quantity of ideas can be expressed through its formal language. Therefore, when comparing two theories concerning same subject, it seems only reasonable to compare expressive powers their languages. On condition that quantum mechanical description is universal so applied macroscopic systems, required than classical mechanics. This implies language Hilbert space must Zermelo-Fraenkel set (the formalism). However, as shown in paper, such requirement cannot met. As result, formalisms hierarchical relation, include one another. fact puts doubt quantum-classical correspondence undermines reductionist approach physical world.

Classical Three - Box “ paradox ”
A simple classical probabilistic system (a simple card game) classically exemplifies Aharonov and Vaidman’s “Three-Box ‘paradox’ ” [J. Phys. A 24, 2315 (1991)], implying that the Three-Box example is neither quantal nor a paradox and leaving one less difficulty to busy the interpreters of quantum mechanics. An ambiguity in the usual expression of the retrodiction formula is shown to have misled...
متن کاملClassical Diamagnetism and the Satellite Paradox
In typical models of classical diamagnetism (see, for example, sec. 34-4 of [1] or sec. 11.5 of [2]) the change of the magnetic moment of an “atom” is deduced when an external magnetic field increases “slowly” from 0 to B = B ẑ. The “atom” consists of an electron of charge −e and mass m that is in a circular orbit of radius r0 in the x-y plane about a “fixed nucleus” of charge e′ at the origin....
متن کاملBiblical Paradox and Coinductive Reasoning
The study of paradox has been one of the most neglected areas in contemporary biblical scholarship. One of the landmark examples is the Liar’s Paradox (Titus 1:12) with circular reasoning, along with the name of God (Exodus 3:14) and the identity of Jesus (John 14:10). Yet biblical paradox is one of the most ignored areas in biblical study for the latter half of the 20th century. The study of p...
متن کاملClassical-Logic Analogue of a Fuzzy “Paradox”
One of the main reasons why classical logic is not always the most adequate tool for describing human knowledge is that in many real-life situations, we have some arguments in favor of a certain statement A and some arguments in favor of its negation ¬A. As a result, we want to consider both A and ¬A to be (to some extent) true. Classical logic does not allow us to do that, while in fuzzy logic...
متن کاملA Classical Solution to the Paradox of Knowability *
After introducing semantic anti-realism and the paradox of knowability, the paper offers a reconstruction of the anti-realist argument from understanding. The proposed reconstruction validates an unrestricted principle to the effect that truth requires the existence of a certain kind of “demonstration”. The paper shows that that principle fails to imply the problematic instances of the original...
